ArtZone

ArtZone celebrates its 19th anniversary this year!

ABOUT ARTZONE:

Release your inner artist!

As a home base for students interested in the visual arts, ArtZone provides opportunities to develop art-making skills and self-expression through workshops and from one another.

ArtZone takes a hands-on approach to learning about media and techniques like bookbinding, photography, painting, printmaking, weaving, film and so much more.
No experience required…just bring your interest and desire to learn!

ArtZone plays a vital role in fostering a strong arts community on the UNB campus for students from UNB/STU/CAT/NBCCD/NBCC/High Schools. All are welcome!

For more information on workshops or how to receive the benefits of ArtZone membership, please contact Lori Quick create@unb.ca

ArtZone Super Stocking Stuffer Gift Basket Raffle!

UPDATE: The winner of the ArtZone Super Stocking Stuffer Gift Basket was Wanda Birch. We raised $422, half of which will help fund a water project through thewaterproject.org.

This year we are raffling off a beautiful basket with donations from amazing local artists and ArtZone members.

ArtZone would like to give a BIG shout out to all of our donors for this gift basket fundraiser! THANK YOU! The total value is over $250 and most of the items in this gorgeous basket are handmade!

Half of the proceeds will go to ArtZone Student Art Collective to buy supplies so we can keep on creating for our year end exhibition. The other half of the proceeds will go to a water project in need of funding, organized by thewaterproject.org

Last year we were able to help with the construction of a sand dam and shallow well in Makueni County, which is one of the 8 counties in Eastern Kenya, Africa.

You can buy tickets at the UNB Art Centre office, located in Memorial Hall (Mon - Fri, 9am-4pm.) Also, tickets can be purchased at the UNBSU Craft Sale on November 25th at the UNB Student Union Building 12-8pm, the STU Christmas Craft Sale on November 26th 12-6pm and the Christmas Choice Craft Sale, December 7th 12-4pm. We will also be set up at random locations on campus and doing 'drop ins' to different departments.

The draw will take place at the Christmas Choice Craft Sale on December 7th at 4pm.

Seussisms

March 24 to 28, 2014

ArtZone student art collective invites members of the public to a special exhibition called Seussisms opening on Thursday, March 27 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Through painting, book works, embroidery, and fabric, 10 members of this student group reminisce and reflect on their attachment to everyone’s favourite childhood author and philosopher, Dr. Seuss.

This year, members hail from the University of New Brunswick, St. Thomas University and the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. ArtZone encourages visual literacy through workshops as well as informal skill sharing.  A variety of workshops like book-binding, weaving, printmaking, and photography provide skill-based learning opportunities to members.  No experience required; students just need to bring their interest and their desire to learn.

Seussisms will be on view at the Provincial Archives, 23 Dineen Drive on the UNB Campus from March 24 through March 28 during regular business. Join Artzone for refreshments, readings and conversation.  Admission is free.
